30Forward invites police leaders to make clear, measurable commitments to support women throughout their careers in policing. While progress continues, women remain underrepresented, particularly in leadership roles. Research consistently shows that greater representation of women strengthens community relationships, builds public trust, and contributes to more effective policing. Addressing long-standing barriers, such as workplace culture, work-life balance, and access to mentorship, remains an important part of this work.

Guided by research and critical mass theory, 30Forward supports sustained progress toward 30% representation of women across policing organizations. The initiative focuses on leadership accountability, mentorship and allyship, performance measures, and evidence-based resources to help organizations support women over the long term. Inspired by the U.S. 30×30 Initiative, 30Forward is a national movement designed to support the advancement of women in policing across Canada. It builds on the momentum of 30×30 while reflecting the Canadian policing context.

30Forward is designed to support both sworn and civilian members. Through its national mentorship network and growing resource hub, the initiative brings together officers, civilian professionals, allies, and academic partners. As a living platform, 30Forward continues to evolve, sharing research, tools, and best practices to support police services across Canada.

Our Commitment will have measurable actions in the areas of:

      • Recruitment & Hiring
      • Retention & Family Support
      • Mentorship & Leadership Development
      • Allyship & Inclusive Culture
      • Building a National Resource Hub
      • And More!
